Standard freelance blogging service
If you don’t have the time to write blog posts but want to manage your own promotion and publicity, that’s fine. We can work from lists you give us or include topics you specify. We can then research, write great quality blog posts and send them to you in Word format.
This is a popular way of doing things. You offload the burden of the research and writing to us but retain control of everything else.
End-to-end freelance blogging
Coastal Content’s end-to-end freelance blogging service is the most popular by far. We service dozens of small to medium-sized businesses this way. It’s a hands-free way to run a business blog without you having to take valuable time away from your businesses to research, write, edit and publish.
What usually happens is we discuss your requirements or you provide a brief. You specify how many blog posts, on what schedule and anything else you want to specify.
We take the brief and create blog posts that meet, or exceed it. We research posts according to your brief, write them, edit them and publish them on your website. We can add images, complete SEO snippets if you use them, publish them on a schedule you specify and promote them using your own social media channels.
Blog posting
All blog posts we write are composed using entirely positive, conversational language that shows your business in the best light. We have been in this business a long time and know only too well that your venture needs to create a great first impression and keep the positivity coming in order to generate a loyal following.
Blog posts will typically include how-to guides, news, new products or services, global or industry news, internal good news stories, tutorials, case studies, white papers and anything else you can think of. Whether you opt for standard freelance blogging or end-to-end, you retain control of everything and we stick to the brief at all times.
Why freelance blogging could work for you
Every business needs an online presence. It isn’t enough to have a basic website with your address and service list. Customers expect engagement. They expect you to share everything with them and let them know exactly who you are, what you do and why they should do business with you.
Alongside solid web content, a blog is your opportunity to do that. Blogging forms the foundation of any online marketing campaign. Get it right and you’re building your brand on solid foundations. Get it wrong and you’re going to find it difficult to engage.
Freelance blogging works for our clients because they realise these things. They also realise that they don’t have the time or inclination to spend hours a week researching and writing blog posts. Some will supplement our posts with their own when they have the time. The great thing about blogs is that there is no such thing as too much!
Running a business is all about using the right tool for the job. If writing isn’t your speciality or something you have any interest in, that’s where we come in. We love what we do and that shines through in every post we write. We have been working with some of our clients for almost ten years. That should tell you just how valuable our service is and how reliable we are!
FAQs around freelance blogging
We see a lot of questions around freelance blogging and will try to answer as many of them as possible here.
How to freelance bloggers get paid?
Freelance bloggers get paid the same way as you pay for any service. We invoice monthly and you can pay through PayPal or directly into our bank. For new clients, we request a deposit of 50% for the first couple of orders. After that, we revert to monthly billing on the 28th of each month via invoice.
What is a freelance blogger?
A freelance blogger is someone who works as and when required to fulfil a brief. It could be a permanent fixture over the long term. It could be to cover illness, maternity or holiday. It could be to show team members how to write blog posts or something else entirely. The benefit of using a freelancer is you can use us as and when you see fit!
Can you start a blog for me?
We can certainly start a blog for you. We have a lot of experience with WordPress and Joomla and can set up a website, configure a web template, build a blog and run it for you. Just contact us to discuss your needs.
How often should I blog?
You should blog as often as you like as long as you have something interesting to say. There is no hard and fast rule as long as every post offers genuine value to the reader. Blogging is more about quality than quantity. Some blogs work better posting every day while others are content posting once, twice or three times per week.
Much depends on your business. If you’re in a fast moving industry with a lot going on, you can afford to blog more. If your industry is quieter or has less to talk about, less is definitely more.
How long should blog posts be?
There are no rules around how long a blog posts should be. The same rule, quality over quantity works here too. We would suggest a practical minimum of 400 words but there is no maximum length. Some clients prefer short posts as they are snappy and offer instant gratification. Other clients prefer much longer posts that go into a lot more detail. We regularly write posts of 400 words all the way up to 4,000 or more.
How long does it take for a blog to get visitors?
If you’re a new blog it could take between 3-6 months to begin attracting attention. Much depends on the age of the domain and your industry. If you have just registered your domain, you may have to content with Google sandboxing first. This is where Google won’t actively promote your website in order to make sure it isn’t a spam site. That can last between 3-6 months on its own.
Established domains don’t have that hurdle so can theoretically begin gathering fans far faster.
How can I attract visitors to my blog?
There are a few simple ways to attract visitors to your blog or website. Post regularly, post quality, engage with your audience and promote your blog posts on all your social channels. You can then perform outreach, guest post, comment on other posts and a range of other methods to gain visitors.
