Reeling readers in with your writing
Dec 26, 2014Understanding copy to ensure customers can too
Dec 31, 2014Or anyone else in search of inspiration. Many writers and artists of all genres have found they can?t help but be inspired by what it has to offer.
Even a few hours away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life will blow away the cobwebs.
A walk along its rugged shores does wonders for recharging those flat batteries that stops the creative process.
If you?re suffering from that dreaded writers block, what better way to get through it?
It?s a common problem as most writers have found out at one time or another. No matter what you do nothing comes out as it should. The words won?t flow, the plot seems full of holes, and the characters refuse to do what you want them to.
You begin to wonder if it?s the end of your writing life. Of course it isn?t, but it seems like it at the time.
If nothing else Cornwall is full of surprises. There?s always something unexpected just around the corner. Quite literally as those who?ve experienced it already can tell you.
One minute you can be strolling down a road busy with traffic, and the next face to face with scenery to take your breath away. Nature at its most spectacular giving a performance that stops you in your tracks.
How can you not be inspired by that?
You might wonder how all of that can possibly help if you?re trying to write about murder and mayhem. Or anything else dark and as far removed from such things as they can be. You?d be surprised.
Most advice given by writers to others facing writer?s block is to walk away from it. Not for good, but just to stop struggling with it and do something else. Deadhead the roses perhaps. Or go for a walk and leave your imagination to its own devises for a while. More often than not it?ll come back when it?s ready, rearing to go and all the better for the rest.
With somewhere as inspirational as Cornwall you can?t help but feel better for being there. If only on a temporary basis. Which more often than not will be all you need to get writing again.
