Three simple ways to create fantastic content

Three simple ways to create fantastic content

There are hundreds of ways to generate content ideas. Many of them are mainstream and a few are quite unusual. All can provide a vast number of angles and topics to choose from. With content marketing growing exponentially, the demand for good quality content is growing along with it.

While we here at Coastal Content are always happy to produce more content, many brands want to do it in-house. We say, the more the merrier, but make sure you get it right! With that in mind, we have come up with three simple ways to create fantastic content.

Use the news

Utilising the news and current events for inspiration is one of the most effective ways to get attention. Think of an angle that connects the headline to your brand and leverage the attention it is getting in the news for your own gain. As long as you can create, publish and publicise your own content in time of course!

If you do use the news, take a leaf from the journalist?s playbook and don?t bury the lead. That means don?t write paragraphs of copy that a reader has to get through before hitting to the meat of the story. Have the hook in that first paragraph, then tease the rest of it out over the rest of the piece. It has worked for hundreds of years and still sells newspapers. Use it to your advantage.

Use opinion

?Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one? (Dead Pool 1988). Never has a truer phrase been said!

Opinions are one of the most effective forms of content marketing. As long as that opinion doesn?t offend anyone, the more controversial or galvanising, the better. As long as you can back up your opinion with some facts and examples and that opinion is relevant to the matter at hand, there are few more powerful marketing tools on the web.

Use variety

Variety is the spice of life, so use it wisely. A healthy content marketing campaign will include a range of content types across a selection of mediums. While the company blog is front and centre, PR news sites, guest posting, social networks and others all have a part to play.

Creating different types of content is important too. Use opinion pieces, news, reviews, how-to?s, videos, infographics, case studies, interviews and whatever else you think your audience might find informative or entertaining. Place quality and value to the reader above all else and you can?t go far wrong.

Those are three straightforward ways you can create fascinating, engaging content for your audience. If you don?t have the time to do it yourself, contact Coastal Content today and we?ll do it for you!
