I build content systems that make money. Not noise.

Hi, I’m Jamie.

I’ve been working in digital content and marketing for over 20 years. Long enough to have survived keyword stuffing, algorithm meltdowns, social media gold rushes and at least three declarations that “blogging is dead.”

It isn’t.

It just grew up.

Coastal Content exists because content is still one of the most powerful commercial levers in business.

But the era of casual blogging and low-effort traffic grabs is over. The low-hanging fruit has been picked, juiced and turned into a webinar.

What’s left?

Strategy. Depth. Judgement. Systems.

That’s where I live.

What I actually do

I’m a hands-on writer, an AI content specialist and a content team lead.

In practice, that means I help businesses:

  • Develop clear positioning
  • Build authority through long-form, high-conviction content
  • Create AI-assisted workflows without sacrificing quality
  • Audit and improve underperforming content
  • Lead writers and editorial teams
  • Turn traffic into revenue, not just impressions

I don’t just produce words. I design content engines.

Yes, I use AI. No, I don’t outsource thinking.

AI is extraordinary.

It drafts faster than any human. It structures ideas cleanly. It accelerates research. I use it every day.

But while AI can produce content at scale, it cannot decide what matters.

It cannot understand commercial nuance. It cannot protect brand positioning. It cannot recognise when a strategy sounds clever but collapses under scrutiny.

That’s editorial judgement. That’s experience.

That’s where I come in.

I help businesses integrate AI intelligently, not recklessly. Faster output is meaningless if it weakens authority. I build systems that compound over time.

Who I’ve worked with

Over the years, I’ve written for and worked with freelancers, agencies, startups, upstarts, disrupters and big brands including:

  • DHL
  • Hilton Hotels
  • Virgin Media
  • Bank of Valletta
  • Brainstorm Force

From global brands to fast-moving product companies, the fundamentals stay the same.

Clear positioning. Commercial awareness. Consistent execution.

Why experience matters

The internet loves new ideas. I do too. But I’ve seen enough cycles to recognise patterns.

I’ve watched:

  • Platforms rise and quietly decline
  • Traffic spike and disappear overnight
  • Businesses chase trends that didn’t align with their model
  • Content strategies collapse under their own volume

Experience doesn’t make you infallible. It makes you pattern-aware.

It teaches you when to push. When to pivot. When to ignore the noise.

That kind of judgement is hard to replicate and impossible to automate.

How I work

Some clients bring me in to write. Others bring me in to think. Many ask me to do both.

I work best with companies that:

  • Care about positioning
  • Value long-term growth over short-term vanity metrics
  • Want to use AI intelligently
  • Are serious about building authority

If you’re looking for 100 blog posts next week with no strategic backbone, I’m probably not your person.

If you want durable content that supports revenue, we’ll get along.

A slightly human note

Coastal Content is run from the coast. The name is literal and metaphorical. Calm on the surface. Strategic underneath.

Outside of client work, I run my own content platforms, analyse marketing trends more deeply than most people consider healthy and occasionally write essays about the future of content because I find it genuinely fascinating.

Yes, I’m that person.

Let’s build something that lasts

Marketing isn’t dying. It’s maturing.

AI isn’t replacing marketers. It’s raising the bar.

If you want:

  • A strategic content partner
  • A hands-on writer who understands business
  • An AI-aware editor
  • A team lead who’s been around the block and still enjoys the block

Then let’s talk.

Because the internet doesn’t need more content. It needs better thinking.
